HAS IT REALLY BEEN 4 MONTHS......

Okay guys.....I am going to do my best to catch up on this thing! I cant believe it has been 4 months since I have posted anything!! But I am going to try to keep this as short as possible for as much as I have to catch up on........deep breath.......and here we go..........
Well, I guess the biggest news of the summer is that Jesse and I got ENGAGED!!! It was on August 15 and we were camping in Scofield with family and friends and he took me out on the boat in the middle of the lake and threw rose pettals out in the water and proposed right there! It was very sweet and romantic and I was in complete shock! I am still in a little bit of shock over the whole thing.....it is still crazy to look and my hand and see a beautiful ring on my finger that is MINE!!!! The ring is amazing and exactly what I would have picked out myself and he picked it out all by himself and even got the size right! He is truly amazing and I am the luckiest woman in the whole world to get to marry him! Now all I have to do is plan a wedding........any volunteers to help with that venture?? Other than that everything else we did this summer seems boring in comparison.....but come on, what is more exciting than getting engaged. But lets see.....we did a lot of camping. Flaming Gorge over the 24th of July weekend....Scofield in Aug, and River Rafting in Moab the end of August! All of them were tons of fun, but I am pretty done with all the packing, tent setting up, tent tearing down and unpacking until next summer! Here is just a couple pictures from our camping adventures.............Jesse just hanging out in Flaming Gorge, Jesse catching a fish in Scofield......its a huge one! (dont worry, he did throw it back) and last but not least me river rafting in Moab. It was a blast!!
Besides camping we had a pretty quiet summer. We did a lot of swimming in our pool, lots of BBQ's with family and friends and lots of hanging out! I got laid off from my job the end of May, so I was unemployed most of the summer which was awesome and not so awesome! I loved being home and relaxing, but it wasn't so good for my bank account. I started my new job on August 10 so I am back to being a contributing member of society. While I was unempolyed my sis and I took a trip to New Mexico to see the family and that was super fun! Jesse had to stay home and work.......but me and Mel had a great time! All the kiddos......we had an extremely hard time getting all of them to smile at once....can you tell?

My parents with all 5 of thier grandkids. Zak (top left) Calum (top middle) Jenaya (top right) Lanessa (grandad's lap) Benny (grandma's lap)

A ridiculously cute Benny in Durango playing with the phone booth.Me with Lanessa and Zak outside the train station in Durango.

We put pennies on the train tracks and smashed them. The kids loved it.We also went to Bar-D while we were there which I have always loved doing! I didn't get very many pictures there, but here is one of my cute parents!

Well, I think that is all I have for right now! I didn't catch up on the whole summer, but you get the idea. Hopefully it wont be another 4 months till I update this blog again! I hope everyone else had a wonderful summer!!!

TRAGEDY!!!

Hello everyone! I just wanted to express my thoughts about the mose recent TRAGEDY that has happened in all of our lives, and that is............
THAT FREAKING KRIS WON AMERICAN IDOL INSTEAD OF ADAM!!!
Yes, I am a wee bit upset about the whole thing, and here is why-
Although I found Kris to be quite cute and talented in a somber John Mayer sort of way, he just wasn't anywhere near Adam level! Compared to Adam he was unoriginal, quiet, boring, no personality, and not anywhere near the mad vocal skills.
I find this to be a modern day tragedy in the US of A. I thought Americans proved they were good decision makers when they voted Obama in, but seriously America, way to prove me wrong.
Adam all the way! I will totally still buy your albums and cyber stalk you! A peice of me died last night along with your loss!

2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th..........

Today I am truly grateful for the 2nd chances we get in life, and in my case the 3rd, 4th, 5th or more! This came to mind this morning as I was driving to work and I was running EXTREMELY late! I thought if my employer weren't so gracious and willing to give me another chance, I could be out of a job!

I have been blessed throughout life to have family, friends, employers etc. who were willing to give me multiple chances!! And I have the most caring boyfriend who has given me thousands of chances to be the woman/girlfiend I would like to be!

And of course lets not forget are loving Heavenly Father who gives us the most "2nd chances" at life! I think we would all be screwed if we only had one chance to "make it or break it"! I know I would be!

So today I am grateful for all the 2nd chances I have ever had, and all the 2nd chances that I know I will continue to have as I strive toward being the best person I can be! Lets face it, I will never be perfect, but at least I have loving caring people in my life who are willing to let me keep trying!

Already a Slacker, 2 in 1!

I am so bad at this Gratituce Posting thing! It just goes to show that I get so busy and wrapped up in life that I dont even take two minutes to post about something I am grateful for! So, to make up for my slacking yesterday I am going to do 2 things I am grateful for today!

1. This might sound silly but I am really grateful for BOOKS!! When I was little I would read a ton, and then again life and TV got in the way and I didnt really read for a long time. Well, recently I have discovered my love for reading again, and it has been so nice to curl up on the couch or in bed and just sit quietly, read a book and let my imagination go! It is such a release and a nice change to use my brain instead of turn it to mush watching TV! So I am grateful for my love of reading and for all the Books out there calling my name! This is the book that I am currently reading. It is part of a trilogy that I am currently obsessed with!

2. The second thing I am grateful for is my HEALTH!! I have been super blessed this winter/spring and have not gotten sick ONCE (knock on wood)! It has been over a year since the last time I remember being sick! And over all, I have had a pretty healthy life. No major illnesses or diseases to speak of, and hardly any broken bones or cuts! I have been really blessed to be healthy and whole! And I am definitley grateful for that!

Gratitude

I stole this from my friend Holly, but I thought it was a really good idea! I encourage everyone to participate!

Every day, for a whole week, blog about someting you are grateful for! I love it because I feel like I take alot of things for granted and this is a good opportunity to remember all of the things in my life I am truly grateful for!

Since it is still so close to Mothers Day, I will post about how grateful I am for my Mother!

She truly is an inspiration and a blessing in my life. She has always been there for me and willing to do anything I need her to! I am so grateful for her unconditional love and support!

Thanks Momma for all you have ever done for me! I hope when I eventually have kids, I can be half the mother you were to us!
Here is my beautiful Mother and cute niece Lanessa. (Thanks Trish, I didn't have a pic in my computer, so I stole this one from you!)
